Introducing BlueBox

By In ControlPoint On October 5, 2013

With ControlPoint’s RedBox technology now well established – providing real time data transfer from sites across the world – we are now in a position to launch BlueBox. This alternative concept is similarly retro-fitted to electrofusion boxes and is linked with a smartphone or tablet device through Bluetooth technology.

All elements of the BlueBox technology are fully integrated with the electrofusion jointing process, as the smartphone or tablet device is in two-way communication with the control box. Immediately prior to the fusion cycle, all operators will be required to take a photograph using the device of their choice and they also have the option to take up to four photographs at this stage to provide further evidence of the joint in question.

ControlPoint has been able to establish this integrated structure on all three major operating systems (Android, iOS and Windows). Users are required to download the BlueBox app to their device from either Google Play, iTunes or the Windows Phone Marketplace.

The clever combination of hardware and app allows:

  • Full control of the electrofusion process
  • High resolution photographs
  • Fast uploads via 3G and 4G networks
  • Multi photo capability
  • Fully-approved app, available to download on iTunes, Google PlayTM and Windows Phone Marketplace
