Prevent Pipe Failure With EUSR Approved Training
ControlPoint has been approved by the Energy and Utility Skills Register (EUSR) to provide training which delivers immediate improvements to the quality of pipe installation onsite.
The training, which includes electrofusion and automatic butt fusion, is now EUSR approved and accessible via the Energy & Efficiency Independent Assessment Service website.
ControlPoint training is designed to provide pipeline operators with best practice techniques and an understanding of utility standards, processes and equipment. The training is hands on and delivered in real-world scenarios, either at ControlPoint’s bespoke training centre in Chesterfield or onsite at the client’s premises. There is some classroom learning but the emphasis is on practical training which gets results.
When combined with the ControlPoint data capture system, this creates a continuous improvement philosophy and right first time approach.
In addition, ControlPoint has integrated operators’ EUSR details into their joint welding records on the ControlPoint asset portal, JointManager. Linking each operator to the welds they have completed gives supervisors and asset owners full visibility of operator performance and helps to increase onsite accountability.
ControlPoint has trained close to 1000 operators working on gas, water and sewerage networks across the UK.
Regular clients include GTC, Northern Gas Networks, Morrisons, Energetics, Amey, Severn Trent, Laing O’Rourke and Thames’ partners.

Energy and Skills Register
As the Sector Skills Council (SSC) for the gas, power, waste management and water industries, EUSR operates an independent skills platform which provides recognised standards for the utility sector. EUSR is beneficial to both employers and individuals as they move between companies or between industries. Employers have a robust way of verifying the abilities of their workers while individuals have a recognised method of demonstrating their abilities to employers.
