We can now confirm our speaker programme for the Right First Time event being held at ControlPoint House on Thursday 8th October.
Dr Chris O’Connor, Principal Consultant Pipelines, DNVGL –
“Polyethylene Pipeline Systems – Right First Time”
Chris is a Chartered Engineer and materials scientist holding a BSc and PhD in Polymer Science and Technology. Chris has a background in asset performance improvement, technology decision making and strategy. He currently manages DNV GL’s technology qualification business, focusing on de-risking and safe implementation and new innovative technologies.

Neil is Professor in Computational Biology and Machine Learning jointly for the Departments of Neuroscience and Computer Science at the University of Sheffield. Neil’s main research interest is machine learning through probabilistic models. His industrial experience includes consulting for a major Formula 1 team, acting as advisor for the London based start up, CitizenMe, and collaborating with Control Point on intelligent systems for processing data.
Peter Henley, Technical Consultant for the Water Research Council

Peter is currently a Technical Consultant for WRc, specialising in water and wastewater network operation. He has over 25 years of experience in the water industry working both as a term contractor and directly for the water companies where he was actively involved in preparing business cases in the last 2 AMP periods for Wessex Water and Thames Water respectively to manage the transfer of private sewers. He is engaged in identifying innovation in water, wastewater and gas networks with a key focus on improving workmanship to provide cost effective operations and excellent customer service.

Richard has 23 years’ experience in the gas industry, beginning his career as an Apprentice Distribution Craftsman with British Gas in 1992. Today he is responsible for managing NGN’s Network Innovation Allowance (NIA) funded innovation projects as well as identifying and introducing business improvement solutions.

Keith has 38 years’ experience in the gas industry and has spent the last ten of those with GTC. He held previous roles with British Gas/Transco/Advantica and is author of numerous Company standards and co-author of various IGEM standards.
